Since my kids are too young to really following a pattern I cut out all the body pieces and trim. I also ironed under all the hems. When it was time to sew I let each kiddo sit on my lap to help use the machine while I made their doll (even the Pixie Girl). They helped guide the fabric and learned a few key saftey rules about working with the sewing machine (sorry the photos are so dark – we are having a lighting issue in the basement… thank goodness for the light built into the sewing machine). Once the bodies were done, the kids picked out their final pieces of trim to attach.
