I’m not any good at keeping secrets… it would be safe to say I suck at it, although I should elaborate. I’m not good at keeping “good news” secrets. You know, pregnancies, marriages, promotions… I’m just so excited for people that I’ll burst if I can’t share the good news. On the other hand, if you tell me a secret from the heart, about hard choices and fears… I’ll take that secret to my grave!

Having said that, I’ve know since Christmas that Drew and Meghan are expecting their second child August 30, and Little Lady will have a new baby brother or sister, and we’ll have a new wee one to love. I’m so proud that I’ve been able to go so long without sharing the news here. But, I’m beginning to get the urge to make stuff for the baby, so it’s more or less imperative that I let the cat out of the bag. BTW… Bug is hoping for a boy… he is surrounded by girls… but with a 9 year age spread, he’d be getting more of a statistic than a playmate in his cousin ðŸ™‚

Back in May of 2010, I shared this afghan that I knitted for the Little Lady. At the time, we just found out she was going to be a girl, and I searched long and hard to find a unique and awesome afghan to knit. I was so excited when I found this afghan pattern in the book Fairy Tale Knits (incredible book, btw… I’ve made many things from it). Meghan used it to tuck in around Little Lady all the time, and never failed to get comments on it where ever she went. I need another afghan just as awesome!

So, I am now on a quest for a new afghan pattern. Although I made the Crocheted Kitty Cat, I am much more comfortable with knitting, so I’m looking for a knit pattern. Does anyone have any ideas or know of any patterns that could compete with this one for awesomeness? If you have a link to a website or a photo from a book, I’d love any suggestions anyone has. I’ll actually be sharing a Kimara original if you are the first to make a suggestion I use 🙂

BTW… Meghan is 15 1/2 weeks now. Photos of Meghan and child were taken by Drew. (Thank you Drew-Drew Buns 🙂
