Birds, Bunnies, Buds, Butterflies, & Bees
We are happy to announce that the Spring Bs Second Edition is now available. This means that all three of our Simple Seasons core curriculum guides are now available in print and tablet ready formats. Yay! This project has been several years in the making. We are currently working on updating our 9 week summer unit Puddles & Ponds and plan to also offer our 4 week Advent Activities unit in the same print format.
If you are not already familiar with our Simple Seasons units we encourage you to check them out now. I originally wrote Simple Seasons when my oldest was 4 years old. We enjoyed repeating the units again and again as each of my children began their school days. We have created the second edition guides to update the book lists as some of the originals are now out of print, add in new crafts that better fit the weekly themes, and fix some of the glaring typos.
Simple Seasons is a literature based, hands-on curriculum that has been designed to be used with 4-6 year old children as a gentle introduction to their school years. Each seasonal based unit includes literature, social studies, art appreciation, crafts, and science. An introduction to phonics is included as an optional activity. There are three 12 week terms for the school year plus a bonus shorter summer study and an advent activity guide. Each unit includes a schedule that focuses on the rhythm of the seasons with a special emphasis on holidays and nature.

Over the years we have tried several different ways to get Simple Seasons fans in touch with each other. Homeschooling is an amazing journey to take with your family. It is wonderful if you can find friends to share your stories with and provide encouragement for each other. We have tried to bring those who are using the Wee Folk Art Homeschool Companion units together with Flickr, forums, and blog link sharing but these have all fizzled out. Recently we were approached by one of our long time readers asking if we could create a Facebook group instead. She even offered to moderate it as she is getting ready to use Simple Seasons with her family. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you who are currently homeschooling with Wee Folk Art, have used our units in the past, or plan to use them in the future to join us now at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1042634892415362/. We would also like to thank Reverie for volunteering to moderate the group. Although Kimara and I will be stopping by, it is wonderful to have someone who is in the trenches so to speak, eager to share with others.
