You’ve just been invited to a last minute soiree and don’t want to go empty handed. What to do, what to do? Here’s a quick little hostess gift you can whip up in minutes and, chances are, you’ve got all the ingredients on hand. Not only that, it is seriously yummers! Around here we like butter and honey on biscuits, but it is usually a sticky mess. By mixing the butter and honey together first, the honey stays put and you still get all the delicious flavor. The cinnamon is an extra treat!
RECIPE

1 stick butter, at room temperature
2 – 4 tablespoons cup honey (we used 4, we like it sweet!)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Combine the butter, honey, and cinnamon in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat until well mixed.

Moosh into a small jelly jar. Don’t worry if there are a few air pockets!

Cover with lids and you are good to go! You can leave it out if you are going to eat soon. Otherwise, refrigerate like you would plain butter. Just remember to bring to room temp before serving.

A TASTE TEST TALE

So… taste testing time. I slathered some on a piece of bread.

Bites were taken and everyone loved it! Well… except for Pixie. Pulling a Green Eggs and Ham tactic, she refused to take a bite.

Pixie: I do not like honey butter. I do not want to take a bite.

Me: Seriously, kiddo, just try it. I think you will like it.

Pixie: I don’t think so.

Me: Just try.

Pixie… taking the offensive piece of bread…

Taking the bite…

Well???

Say, she likes it! Pixie likes its!

And there you have it. Two thumbs up all around! Make it for a gift or to have around the house. Winnie the Pooh would approve 🙂
