Gnome Clown Costume Pattern for Autumn Celebrations!

Whether your Gnomes have been invited to a Harvest Celebration or plan to go out for Trick or Treats, they will be the life of the party in their Gnome Clown Costume!

Let’s face it, no gnome wants to be without his or her hat. They don’t even want to take them off when they take a bath! So what can be better than a costume that lets them still wear a gnome hat! This Papa Gnome and Wee Lad are sure to create merriment where ever they go in their Gnome Clown Costume! I wonder if these gnome clowns can juggle?

Materials for Gnome Clown Costume

• wool felt (100% Wool Felt) or (Wool Blend Felt)
• 6 strand embroidery floss
• 1 adult wooden peg – 2 3/8″
• 1 child wooden peg – 1 11/16″
• craft glue
• pattern

Directions for Gnome Clown Costume

NOTE: Wooden pegs can vary in size, even from the same company. We suggest you make a copy of the pattern, cut it out of paper, and “try it on” your wooden pegs. Make adjusts to the paper pattern before cutting out your felt.

Make a copy of the pattern and cut out felt pieces as follows:

• hat and body wrap Color A
• dots and ruffle Color B

Sew dots onto hat using a running stitch and 2 strands of matching floss.

Using 6 strands of contrasting floss, blanket stitch along the bottom of the hat.

With wrong sides together fold the hat in half lining up edges. Sew the hat seam using 2 strands of matching floss and a running stitch.

Glue on body wraps.

Place ruffle around the neck. Sew on using 2 strands of matching floss and an overcast stitch. The seam of the ruffle should be centered on the back seam of the body wrap.

Place a thin line of glue around the inside of the hat and place on your gnome tilting the hat slightly back. Make sure the back seam of the hat is centered on the back seam of the body wrap.

Lift the ruffle and place a thin line of glue on the top of the body wrap.

Hold the ruffle down on the body until the glue sets up. This only takes a minute or two with craft glue.

When the glue is set, the ruffle will gently hang down covering the top of the body wrap.

Your gnomes are now ready for a fun Harvest Party or to head out for Trick or Treats!
