If you are lucky enough to spy one on a nature walk, make sure to\u00a0get a photo if the wee creature is willing to stand still long enough. If you don&#8217;t happen upon a turtle share books about turtles so children can discover different patterns that can be seen on turtle&#8217;s backs. That&#8217;s not to say your child&#8217;s turtle will be realistic looking. Have fun with your wee ones and enjoy\u00a0your new pet turtle!<\/p>\n<p>Painted Rock Turtle Materials:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rocks (collected from your yard)<\/li>\n<li>paints and paint brushes<\/li>\n<li>card stock paper &#8211; instead of paper you can do the same thing with felt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions to Make Your Painted Rock Turtle:<\/p>\n<p>Collect some round or oval rocks and wash and dry them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/weefolkart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/boxturtle-rocks545wm.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14063\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/weefolkart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/boxturtle-rocks545wm.jpg?resize=545%2C363\" alt=\"boxturtle-rocks545wm\" width=\"545\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Set your rock on your card stock paper. Using a pencil trace around the rock. Draw on the tail, 4 legs and head. \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the rock and body are dry, put craft glue on the turtle where the rock will sit.<\/p>\n<p><a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Place the rock on the body and allow the glue to dry completely.<\/p>\n<p><a
