Originally, they were crafted as pennywhistles and were believed to have magical qualities. As time went on, they were no longer perceived as possessing magical qualities, and became toys for children. Although many cultures have created clay toys, Dymkovo toys are easily recognizable because of the style of painting. Traditionally, the figures have a white background, and are painted with bright colors using geometric shapes, mainly circles. We suggest using simple figures with broad surfaces. It makes the figures easier to paint.
