It seems that each country has a similar game, but it is interesting to discover regional variations. As with all of these games, the rules are easy to learn, but it takes longer to develop a strategy that works.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>The Coyote and the Chickens Game Materials<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"easyazon-link\" data-cart=\"n\" data-cloak=\"y\" data-identifier=\"B07D4YF3K4\" data-locale=\"US\" data-localize=\"y\" data-popups=\"n\" data-tag=\"homeschool-companion-20\" href=\"https:\/\/weefolkart.com\/homeschool\/product\/B07D4YF3K4\/US\/homeschool-companion-20\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">cardstock paper<\/a><\/li>\n<li>tokens (buttons, game pieces, coins, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>2 players<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/weefolkart.com\/homeschool\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/08\/coyote-and-chickens-game-web.pdf\">template<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Making your Game<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make a copy of the game board <a href=\"https:\/\/weefolkart.com\/homeschool\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/08\/coyote-and-chickens-game-web.pdf\">template<\/a> on cardstock paper. Gather together 13 tokens, 1 for the coyote and 12 identical tokens for the chickens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Coyote and the Chickens Game Goal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are the coyote, your job to is gather all the chickens. If you are the chickens, you must surround the coyote so it cannot move. The game is over when all the chickens have been gathered or the coyote can no longer move.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Coyote and the Chickens Game Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One player is the coyote. He gets one game piece. The other player is the chickens. The chickens go first. Chickens can move 1 open space in any direction trying to surround the coyote and protect themselves at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>During his turn, the coyote can move 1 space in any direction or it can capture a chicken by jumping over it into an open space like in checkers.
