Caleen absentmindedly made the bed. She was both excited and nervous. Today, her brothers were coming for their first visit to Hidden Cove. She wondered if they would approved of her new life and her new house. Would they love it all as much as she did? She thought they would… she hoped they would, but one way or another, she would know soon.

There were so many things to share with them… the beach, the ocean, the mermaids, and the village itself. And Caleen knew, if all else failed, she could win over their stomachs! Since she had settled in to her new home, she had been busy with her kind mother-in-law, learning to cook local delicacies.

Caleen realized she had nothing to worry about. The boys would love Hidden Cove! For she knew, above all else, they wished for her to be happy, and happy she was. Her new life with Kristoff was more than she could ever have dreamed, and today she would be able to share it all with the two other men that she loved so dearly!

Caleen has been hard at work making the Mini Striped Blanket Knitting pattern. This striped blanket not only adds a wonderful texture and lovely colors to the seaside gnome home, but it also adds just enough warmth to cuddle under during the cool beach evenings. When Caleen and Kristoff pack a lunch for the day, the striped blanket serves them well for picnics by the water.

Stripped Blanket Knitting Pattern

Inspired by the striped Hudson Bay Blanket, this mini-version was knit for our seaside gnomes using sock weight yarn and more subtle shades of the traditional primary colors. This is a very quick and satisfying little project.

After creating your white border, you will knit a stripe pattern with your colorful yarn. Do not cut your white yarn between colored rows, just leave it at the edge and pick it up again when you are ready to knit the next white row.
