Sleeping Out

Britta was awaken by the lovely sound of birds singing in the forest trees. When she opened her eyes, however, she realized she was much closer to the forest than she had been when she went to sleep the night before. It seemed that at some time during the night, the bed that she shared with Axel, was removed from their home and carried far into The Thicket. Leprechauns! Britta thought of waking Axel, then took a deep breath, smelling the intoxicating fragrance of the mossy ground and the pine trees, and she snuggled back under the warm covers, snickered quietly and whispered, "No harm done" before falling back into a gentle sleep.

Directions for making the bed, mattress and pillow can be found HERE.

That was really awesome!

That was really awesome! Thanks for posting the knitting instructions. I'll make one for my niece. I really love the color, my niece was so in love with it and she's keep on asking me to make one for her. Thanks for such a wonderful post:).

Leprechauns bring good things too.

We had to make a couple of these guys for our gnome home! My nine year old reminded me that Leprechauns bring pots of gold with them. Tell Britta to look for a rainbow and she will surely find it there! I posted some pictures of our gnome home and the rainbow that Marra made.

Please tell Marra that she was very clever finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Britta has been keeping her eyes open. She's hopeful she'll find Ronan's stash before St. Patrick's Day, but no luck so far. Thanks for sharing on Flickr. I'll be linking WFA's Facebook to it in the morning :)

I have to ask, Is Axel going

I have to ask, Is Axel going to be as understanding as Britta is when he wakes up. Hehe. And I love that you can see the naughty leprechaun returning to the scene of the accident! Also, I love the yarn in the bedspread. What is it?

I sincerely doubt that Axel

I sincerely doubt that Axel will be so understanding. Yet, he must not get so very angry, because he's been known to down a few honey meads with the Leprechauns, while joining them in song well into the wee hours of the night!

As far as the yarn goes... That yarn is Red Hearts - Heart and Sole (with aloe) Color: 3965 Razzle Dazzle.

I was reading today's post

I was reading today's post and my 4 year old son said, Look, a peppercorn! Sure enough, there amongst the trees was a "peppercorn". I hadn't noticed. Loving it! I have sock yarn left over from a pair of socks that I sincerely tried to knit, just isn't going to happen. Pulling out the yarn at naptime. We have a very little gnome house, but my daughters also have a doll house that this could be used in. As always, thanks ladies.

My children and I love your

My children and I love your little stories. You should write a book! I just learned how to knit and think I could tackle this afghan. Wish me luck and thanks for all your inspiration.
