What is the Wee Folk Art Support Handmade Program?
At Wee Folk Art we believe that artisans and crafters who sell handmade products should be encouraged. We also understand that traditional advertising methods can be too expensive for small shop owners. Over the years we have offered several different programs to help small businesses reach our audience. If you have a small shop in which you sell handmade products or crafting materials, we invite you to join our Support Handmade program. Our readers are especially interested in crafting supplies, art supplies, eco-friendly products, handmade toys, children’s items, and Waldorf products. There are two ways in which you can participate; you can have a paid listing or a free link exchange listing. Details are below. Both listings allow a small, handmade business owner to include a 150 x 150 button listing in the Support Handmade Directory.

How to Participate in the Support Handmade program for FREE:
If you have website, blog, or a store front where you can add links you can join the Support Handmade program for free. All you have to do is add a link back to this page, to help others learn about the Support Handmade program. Once your link is active, come back here and add your shop’s button. Our program will automatically check your webpage for the link. The link has to appear on the exact page to which you are linking and it has to link directly back to this page. This helps spread the word about Support Handmade and brings more visitors to the Support Handmade Directory. You can use a simple text link, or you can scroll to the bottom of this page and find a cute Support Handmade button to use on your website.
NOTE: If you are having trouble with the auto link feature, set your button up as if to pay but DON’T pay. Send me an email [michelle (at) weefolkart.com] with a link to your page with our link on it and I can manually approve it without payment. Our auto-approval cannot find the links on some website platforms.
Cost to Participate in the Support Handmade program without a shared link:
If you cannot add a link to your webpage, or if you would prefer not to, you can join the program for the low cost of $5.00 per 30 days. You can pay a one time fee for 30, 60, 180, or 365 days or you can set up your account to automatically renew each period with a subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Paypal account. If you chose not to setup the automatic renewal you will have to manually update your button when your time has elapsed or it will be automatically removed from the listing. All payments are process through Paypal. Let us know if you have any questions about the subscription program.

Support Handmade Buttons
If you would like to add a link on your site to our Support Handmade Page you are welcome to use any of these. You do not have to have to participate in the program in order to use one of our buttons. If you have a blog or website and want to encourage others to buy handmade you can use any of our buttons, just be sure to link the button directly to this page https://www.weefolkart.com/content/support-handmade-directory. If you are not sure how to set up a Button on your site here is a quick tutorial to get you the Basic 125 x 125 Support Handmade Button. All you need to do is copy the green code below and paste it in an html area on your site. Here is the basic run down on how to do this on two of the popular blog platforms.
How to add a Support Handmade button in Blogger:
- Go to Layout.
- Click on add a Gadget.
- Select HTML/JavaScript.
- When the box opens, give it a tile (Wee Folk Art, Sites I Love, Cool Places on the Web, etc), then paste the green code found below in the main text area.
- Be sure to Save your Gadget and you should now have a Wee Folk Art Button on your site.
How to add a Support Handmade button in WordPress:
- Go to Dashboard.
- Click on Appearance.
- Choose Widgets.
- Drag a Text Box to your Side Bar.
- Give the Text Box a title (Wee Folk Art, Sites I Love, Cool Places on the Web, etc), then paste the green code found below into the main text area.
- Be sure to Save it and you should now have a Wee Folk Art Button on your site.

Submission for an Support Handmade listing does not guarantee a spot on our site. We reserve the right to refuse any shop that we do not feel belongs on our site or is not in keeping with the spirit of the Support Handmade program. All potential shop listings will be reviewed by us before they will be approved for publishing. The review process may take up to 48 hours. If at any time a Support Handmade shop uploads a button image that we find offensive it will be immediately removed and the shop will be banned from our site. We make no guarantees about page views or click rates. We may cancel the program at any time.
