We love decorating with pumpkins during Autumn, who doesn’t, right? Unlike “Halloween” decorations that really are only appropriate closer to the holiday, a hard working pumpkin will be with you in September, October and November. These Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkins are not only adorable, but they are super-duper easy to make, inexpensive, appropriate for preschoolers on up, and that fact that they are made with recycled paper rolls, well, that’s just icing on the pumpkin, so to speak! Start saving your toilet paper rolls now, and if you are like us, you’ll be asking everyone you know to save theirs for you, too!

Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkins Directions
Remove all the toilet paper from the rolls.
Cut 3 rolls into rings approximately 3/4 inch wide. They do not need to be exact. You should get 5 rings per roll, 15 in all. Young children will probably need your help cutting the rolls into rings.
Paint the inside and outside orange of the rings orange. Let dry.
Cut the 4th toilet paper roll to create a stem. Cut the roll on an uneven diagonal going from 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches. Paint the roll brown.
String the orange rings onto a piece of twine.
Tie the two ends of the twine together, while at the same time space out the rings to make a circle. The stem should be able fit snugly into the center of the ring. Tie the string in a knot. Cut off the extra twine leaving 1/2 inch tails.
Cut a circle slightly larger than the cardboard roll opening on paint one side brown. Let it dry.
Place a line of glue around the stem about 1 inch from the bottom of the roll. Slip the stem between the orange rings so the diagonal cut is on top.
Glue the round, brown ring to the bottom of the roll. Let dry.
Crinkle some scrap paper and push into the stem from the top. Allow the paper to come all the way to the top of the stem. Paint the paper brown.
Cut 2 pieces of twine 22 inches each, and as one, knot and tie a bow to the stem.
