This Sweater was designed to fit our 12 inch Waldorf style dolls.

Size 6 Needles
1 Skein DK Weight Yarn
Gauge 7 stitches per inch
3 – ¾” buttons

CO – Cast On
SSK – Slip two stitches as if to knit, return to left needle, knit them both together (1 st decrease).
K2T – Knit two together (1 st decrease).
P2T – Pearl two together (1 st decrease).


BACK:
CO 42 sts
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5: P2 (K2, P2) to end
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6: K2 (P2, K2) to end
Row 7: K
Row 8: P
Continue in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 3 inches from bottom edge.

Arm Hole Shaping:
(RS) rows 1, 3, 5, 7: SSK, SSK, K to last 4 sts, K2T, K2T
(WS) rows 2, 4, 6, 8: P
(You should have 26 sts left.)

Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 5.5 inches from bottom edge.
Bind off.


FRONT LEFT SIDE:

CO 18
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5: K2, P2 to end
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6: P2, K2 to end
Row 7: K
Row 8: P
Continue in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 3 inches from bottom edge.

Arm Hole Shaping:
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5, 7: K to last 4 sts, K2T, K2T
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: P
(You should have 10 sts left.)

Neck Shaping:
(RS) Row 1: Bind off 4 sts (opposite side from shoulder shaping), K to end
(WS) Row 2: P
Row 3: Bind off 1 sts, K to end (You should have 5 sts left.)
Row 4: P

Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 5.5 inches from bottom edge.
Bind off.


FRONT RIGHT SIDE:

CO 18
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5: K2, P2 to end
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6: P2, K2 to end
Row 7: K
Row 8: P
Continue in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 3 inches from bottom edge.

Arm Hole Shaping:
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5, 7: SSK, SSK, K to end
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6: P
(You should have 10 sts left.)

Neck Shaping:
(WS) Row 1: Bind off 4 sts (opposite side from shoulder shaping), P to end
(RS) Row 2: K
Row 3: Bind off 1 sts, P to end (You should have 5 sts left.)
Row 4: K

Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 5.5 inches from bottom edge.
Bind off.


SLEEVES (make two):

CO 24
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5: K2, P2 to end
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6: P2, K2 to end
Row 7: K
Row 8: P
Continue in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 3 inches from bottom edge.

Arm Hole Shaping:
(RS) Rows 1, 3, 5, 7: SSK, K to last 2, K2T
(WS) Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: P
(Should have 16 sts left)

Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 4.5 inches from bottom edge.
Bind off.


 

ASSEMBLE:

 

Sew Pieces together as shown in diagram.
Then sew closed arms and side seams.

 

 

 


BUTTON HOLE BAND on Left Front:

RS facing, start at bottom edge, pick up 28 sts.
(WS) Row 1: P2, K2 to end
(RS) Row 2: K2, P2 to end
Row 3 (button holes): P2, K3, Bind off 2, K, P2, K2, P2, K3, Bind off 2, K, P2, K2, P2, K3, Bind off 2, K, P2, K2
Row 4: P2, K2, P2, CO 2 (using Cable Cast on method), 2, K2, P2, CO 2 (using Cable Cast on method), 2, K2, P2, CO 2 (using Cable Cast on method), P2, K2
Row 5: P2, K2
Row 6: K2, P2
Row 7: P2, K2
Bind off.


BUTTON HOLE BAND on Right Front:

RS facing, start at collar edge, pick up 28 sts.
(WS) Row 1, 3, 5, 7: P2, K2 to end
(RS) Row 2, 4, 6: K2, P2 to end
Bind off.


COLLAR:

Pick up 58 sts, RS facing, starting on top edge of Left Button Hole Band.
(WS) Rows 1, 3, 5: P2T, P to last 2 sts, P2T
(RS) Rows 2, 4: K2T, K to last 2 sts, K2T
Bind off loosely. Collar should curl under.


Sew on 3 buttons.
