Today we are sharing our fourth and final applique in our Stroll on the Beach Collection, a beautiful conch shell applique! Although I love all the appliques in this collection, I think this one has become my favorite. I love the colors and the details, both in individual felt pieces and the stitching. Hope you have as much fun stitching it up as I did!

DIRECTIONS FOR THE CONCH SHELL APPLIQUE
Refer to pattern and photo for applique placements, cutting instructions and embroidery stitches.

Make a copy of the pattern.

Cut out felt using the photo and pattern. Transfer any embroidery markings.

Place all conch shell pieces on the block, overlapping where indicated, and baste in place.

Using a running stitch, sew the outer edges of all the pieces to the block using 2 strands of floss.

Using a stem stitch, embroider straight lines on the pattern using 2 strands of floss.

Using a chain stitch, embroider oval lines on the pattern using 2 strands of floss.
