After the past chaotic and life changing few weeks, I think I am finally ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work! I have a lot of catching up to do. For example… we completed this drawing lesson on May 29 and I am finally posting it! Life happens, right? Anyway… as Michelle had mentioned on lesson 7, we were going to do one more lesson then take the summer off. So, here is lesson 8. For all of you that are following along, if you want to wait for us, we will see you in the fall, but if you are plugging ahead, we hope you are having a wonderful time. We’d love to hear how you are doing, too.
We are continuing our weekly drawing class. We are using Mark Kistler’s book, You Can Draw in 30 Days. Instead of completing the book in 30 days, we plan to take 30 weeks, doing a new lesson each week and then spending time during the week practicing what we have learned. Although I am teaching the class, I am also student and learning every bit as much as the wee ones. Michelle has a degree in fine arts and she adds tons of helpful hints. It is a very exciting time for us all. If you would like to join us, simply pick up the book You Can Draw in 30 Days, and start at Drawing Lesson 1 :: The Sphere, and follow along at your own pace. Each Lesson will be linked to the first Lesson, the previous lesson and the next lesson. Happy Drawing!
Lesson 1 :: The Sphere
Lesson 7 :: Advanced-Level Cubes
Lesson 9 :: We shall continue in the Fall
This week we were given a break from all our spheres and cubes and Mark Kistler had us make some fuzzy cute koalas using the techniques we have been learning.
Pixie’s koala.
Bug’s Koala
Kimara’s koala
Michelle’s koala
Since we are taking the summer off from “official” lessons, we all plan to carry our sketch pads around with us often and draw as the mood strikes us. We will be mindful of the techniques we have learned so far using the nine fundamental laws of drawing to create depth.
We wish you all a summer of joy and happy drawing! We will pick up again in the Fall.
