I got this Facebook message a couple of weeks ago from one of our readers:
Hi I’m looking for a monkey appliqué to make a cushion for my monkey mad son, any help much appreciated!!
When I told her I’d give it a go when I had a chance, she said:
Thanks!! My son will be over the moon!! I tried to do one myself but couldn’t get it right!
When I started designing the block, I wasn’t sure if she was looking for a full body or head, so I designed both. Today I am sharing the monkey with his little arms, legs, and curly tail. As with all our appliques, this little guy was designed to fit on at 6″ x 6″ block, but it can be reduced or enlarged to meet your needs. The pattern can be found HERE.
Hope your son likes him, Toria! I’ve got a few other monkey ideas up my sleeve. I’ll be sharing those later.
Note: If you haven’t done so already, make sure you check out our post on How To Cut Out Felt.

How cute!! And thank you for that tutorial on how to cut felt!! I only (very) recently started crafting and was tracing my patterns on the felt with one of those dissapearing markers but it’s so difficult to get the pattern to stay still! I never thought of taping or stapling… so thanks! 🙂
ADORABLE! can hardly wait to see the other monkeys up your sleeve!
I love this little guy! My hubby calls are daughter monkey! I am looking forward to making this for her, Thank you!
A favorite expression in our house, when we were trying to playfully get the kids to hurry up was "Move it monkeys!" For some reason, even the mention of "monkeys" was enough to bring on giggles. Hope she enjoys our little guy 🙂
