Even if you live in northern regions like I do, you can experience a bit of warmth of a stroll on a beach with this sand dollar applique!
A couple weeks before Christmas one of our readers emailed me and asked if I could design a couple of “beachy” appliques. She was interested in a sand dollar applique and a starfish applique. I told her I would be delighted to, but it might not be until after Christmas. Well, I finally carved out a wee bit of time and designed the appliques for her. Although sitting in my family room with a fresh blanket of snow of the ground does not conjure up thoughts of sandy beaches, designing and making these appliques did remind me of palm trees, warm breezes and footprints in wet sand. At least a temporary reprieve from our northern winter!
The Sand Dollar Applique was made to fit on a 6″ x 6″ block but can be enlarged or reduced to meet your needs. Enjoy! NOTE: Hope you like it, Elizabeth!
