Shop :: Grand Opening and Giveaway!!!

Shop :: Grand Opening and Giveaway!!!

Wee Folk Art Market Place is open from 7:00 a.m. Mondays to 7:00 a.m. EST Tuesdays. For the first few weeks, while we get all the bugs out of the system, the shop may close early if we reach the maximum number of orders we will accept.

EDIT: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to everyone that entered πŸ™‚
Boing, boing, boing, boing! That’s the sound of me jumpin’ up and down for joy! How very exciting today is for us. The realization of a 4 year old dream feels pretty darn good. Now… fingers, toes and eyes crossed that all goes smoothly… but if it doesn’t, we know we are amongst friends and you’ll be supportive and understanding, so low stress here πŸ™‚

Having said that, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time for you to bop over to our shop… K… I’m going to say that again, bop over to OUR shop (has a nice ring doesn’t it?) and check out our modest offerings. We have big plans for Wee Folk Art Market Place, but one step at a time! Over the next several months, you will find new products and ideas being added to the shop… some that you would anticipate… like, oh, gnomes πŸ™‚ and others that may take you by surprise.

But, we are living in the moment, so we are enjoying today’s accomplishments. Now, about the giveaway. Since we are trying to tailor our shop to the readers, here’s what you need to do to enter. OBVIOUSLY, go visit Wee Folk Art Market Place.

First, choose any item in the store that you would like to receive (not included: the Needle Felting Kit or the 100% Wool Rainbow Felting Yarn Bundle) if you win.

Second, go to our GALLERY of FREE PATTERNS, and tell us what item(s) you would like to see turned into a kit. This will be valuable market research for us!

So… leave a comment telling us what item you would like to receive if your name is drawn at random AND tell us what past project of ours you would like to see sold as a kit in our shop.

Remember, our shop is like a Farmers Market. We are only open one day a week, and we have limited number of items that are for sale during shop hours. Once they are sold, they are gone for the week. Also, in the beginning, we will only accept a certain number of orders during a Market Day. Once we hit that, the shop will be closed. The shop doors will be left open for you to window shop, but you won’t be able to buy again until the next Monday.

But not to worry… even if the shop is closed, you can still enter the giveaway. And, although we won’t be shipping overseas for a few weeks, everyone can enter the giveaway, and we will gladly ship overseas if you win!

The giveaway runs from Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26 at 9:00 p.m. EST. Good luck to everyone! Over the next few weeks we will be offering more giveaways as we celebrate the Grand Opening. You won’t want to miss them πŸ™‚

Okay… think that’s everything. If you have any questions about the Market Place or encounter any problems, please email us at shop@weefolkart.com.

REMEMBER… the Market Place will only accept a certain amount of orders for the first few weeks. We’re not sure if we will meet that number in 15 minutes or 15 hours. Also, there is a limited number of any one product. When something sells out, it will not be available again until next week. If there is something you would really like, make sure to visit us early πŸ™‚ And although we do not take special orders, email us if there was something you wanted that was sold out. We will try to make sure they are available the next week. shop@weefolkart.com

So, off you go. Browse or shop. Share your ideas with us, and enter our giveaway. Next week we will be giving away something I made πŸ™‚ Enjoy!

  1. Soo excited for you and your new shop :). I would love to win the acorn memory kit. As for future kits definitely would love to see the big gnomes and the owl doorstop as kits.

    1. Congratulations on the shop, it’s fantastic! I think that the falling leaves wallhanging, or indeed any wallhanging, would make a fabulous kit. Also, maybe do an applique ‘block of the month’ kit, that way at the end of the year there is a full quilt. πŸ™‚ Oh, and if I were to win the Acorn memory kit would be awesome!

  2. How fun! If I won I’d like the wooden eggs and cups. I would like to see a kit for your big gnomes. I’ve been wanting to make those. Good luck with your shop!

  3. YAY–you should be so proud of you!!! I love the acorn memory game–know the perfect little wee one that would love that. I would love to see your falling leaves wallhanging as a kit–there are so many beautiful colors–Best of luck on your store–it’s going to fly!

  4. Congrats!! I am so excited for you both. It inspires me to keep working toward opening my Etsy shop. If I were to be lucky enough to win I would love to have the sorting bowls/acorn kit. I love toys like that and I know our youngest three girls would enjoy it. As for what I would love to see as a kit. I am not sure if it would work but I would love to see a coiled rag bowl kit. Just enough to make a bowl to sit on a nature table maybe? Again congrats!! πŸ™‚

  5. Congrats on the store opening! Everything is so lovely … but to answer your questions:

    1. if I won I would love the rainbow felt roll (I do lots of crafts with a girls’ club and a boys’ club I run, so supplies like the felt are perfect for projects!).

    2. patterns to kit –>
definitely the Santa Peg Gnome into a kit (I LOVE Santas, don’t you?)
    Spring Gnome Sleeping Bag
wooden apple orchard AND the wooden autumn forest
    rainbow coiled basket
    twirl and tie cap
    old world gnomes

    THANKS!

  6. I would love the Spring Flower Garland, if I were to win. And I would love to see a kit for the Fairy Flower Carpet. Thanks!! And Congratulations – it is a gorgeous shop!

  7. The new shop looks fabulous (and of course I’d love to enter your contest so. . )

    1. What I’d like to win: I love the acorn kits (either one–they’re both so cute)

    2. What I’d like to see made into a kit: The large fairies (they had tall hats and wood bodies–a kit with all the matched up felt would be so nice, take the hassle out of pondering the design).

  8. Congratulations on your Grand Opening!!!!

I would love to win the acorn memory kit and would be interested in some hair clip kits.

  9. I’d like to see the big gnomes made available as a kit and if I won, I’d like to receive the spring garland kit. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  10. I’ve been following your blog for a long time. I love it and we have made many projects (my kids 6 and 3 each made a sleeping bag).
I would like the wool squares. For patterns I like Big Gnomes.

  11. I would love to win the wooden eggs and cups for my daughter! And I think the gnome sleeping bags would make a fun kit!

  12. I’ve gotten so many good ideas from your blog–thanks for all your work!
I’d love to win the Spring Flower Garland Kit, and I’d love a kit for some of your wooden trees/animals–I don’t have the tools for the wood cutting, but if you provided the rough-cut shapes, we could sand/smooth/polish/paint them.

  13. Congratulations on the opening of your shop!

As I scrolled through the kits I thought I “needed” them all! But if I had to choose only one I would pick the wooden sorting bowls and acorns. So fun!

As far as one of the free patterns to turn into a kit I would love to see kits from the falling leaves wallhanging pattern, the big gnomes, or the wooden autumn forest. This was not much easier to choose though-so many of the free patterns are amazing and should all be turned into kits!

  14. I am excited to see your shop open for business.

If I won the giveaway, I think I would like the soy paint set.

And I would really like to see kits for the wooden trees. I have always wanted to make them, but am not ready to invest in a scroll saw. If you were able to cut them out, I would gladly finish them.

  15. Congratulations! Your shop looks wonderful. I would like to see the forests turned into a kit. Not everyone is handy with a scroll saw/jigsaw, or even owns one, and I think a kit might be the way to go.

And I have been wanting to try working with paper clay for a while now.

    Good luck with the Marketplace!
    Hanneke

  16. Hi,
Love the shop and your blog very much. It inspires me to craft with my kids myself.
I really like your gnomes so they would make a great kit, to my opinion….

If I win, I’d like the fairy ribbon ring kit!

Thank you so much for the opportunity and good luck with your shop!

  17. All the products are fantastic ! I am so excited for you and for all of us that will be ordering.
I love the hand dyed wool squares. Pastels especially. As for what pattern I would like to see turned into a kit, my first choice would be the wooden Autumn forest. I have no tools to cut out wooden objects and so that would be a big plus for me to be able to get them in a kit form.

  18. Oh, I love the acorn sorting kit. What I would like to see as a kit would be the wooden mushrooms, or the mushroom pocket….

  19. What a delightful selection! I would choose the Autumn and Pine trees to be made into a kit.. they are the most difficult to sort out at home I think. And I would love the acorns and sorting bowl kit. Good luck with your shop!

  20. Congratulations on your lovely new venture! Over the years I’ve made many of your crafts and my children have loved them all. Your Flower Fairy and Little Bud kit are my favorite in your store right now and as for a pattern kit-how about your Big Gnomes, sleeping bags, business card holder….. or really anything made from wool felt! I Love all the peg people in their various forms and they are always a big hit with the little ones!

  21. What a delightful little store. Thank you for offering it. Love the items you are offering, and can’t wait to see what you add.
    Cindy

  22. Thatu00B4s great news. I think you should make Felted Childu00B4s Purse a kit…And if I win…thatu00B4s so hard to tell, you have plenty of gorgeous things there, I love the acorns, but donu00B4t have kids yet, so 100% Wool Felt Rainbow Rolls.

  23. So excited to see the grand opening! I think our gnomes and fairies really need a Spring Flower Garland.

I agree with others that precut wooden shapes like trees would make great kits for those of us without workshops.

  24. The kit I would like to win is Flower Fairy and Baby Bud Kit and the one I would like to see made is Felt Tree Forest

  25. Congrats I love your new shop.

If chosen I would like the soy paint set.

I would love to see your cardinal and robin appliques sold as a kit.

  26. I’ve been reading your blog for quite a while and I think wood & felt toys are great. I think the Wooden Apple Orchard would make a great kit, and the animal doorstops too. If you pick me I would live some wool felt!

  27. Congrats! I hope it’s a big success for you. I would love to have the spring garland kit. And I would love too see kits for the gnomes with their sleeping bags.

  28. I spent ages trying to think what would be good for the next kit, and seem to have come to the same conclusion as lots of other people – I think that the wooden apple orchard would be a good one, especially (as previously mentioned in other comments) for those people who are rubbish at woodwork!

If I won I’d choose the wooden eggs and cups as one of my friends is expecting and I think they’d love a set for their little one when s/he’s old enough.

  29. I LOVE your new shop – couldn't wait for it to open this morning. Winning your giveaway would be fantastic! As far as what I'd like to see in your shop as kits – any of your wood patterns are my first choice!

I was so excited about everything, that I forgot to add my selection if I win – the wooden memory game would be lovely πŸ™‚

  30. I love the Spring Flower Garland Kit. I hope you create a Gnome Leprechaun Kit. I’ve been wanting to make these for a couple of years, but haven’t made the effort to gather all of the supplies.

  31. I would absolutely love the wool felt rainbow roll. (Both of the acorn kits are favourites of mine as well!)

I would love to see either the Big Gnomes or the Rainbow Coiled Rag Bowl made into a kit.

  32. Congratulations!! We love the rainbow felt…and we would love to see the apple orchard as a kit!

  33. I just completed my first order. I was so excited to be able to order, but was worried that being on the west coast, everyone would order before i woke up πŸ™‚ and then the power went out!!! but lucky me, I still got to order. I love all of your patterns and ideas, but I would love to see a kit for the big Gnomes and I would love to win either the soy paints or the rainbow felt pack. but I am just happy to be able to order πŸ™‚ I hope this venture goes well for you!!!

    1. We've had a few emails about the time. If we are finding that we are running out of many items (we've run out of the soy paint and we had to replenish several of the wood sets) we may change our time to 10:00 a.m. to give west coasters a fair shake πŸ™‚ The next few weeks we will be working out lots of bugs πŸ˜‰

  34. Congrats on your accomplishments! The shop looks amazing and the prices are so reasonable!!

  35. I would pick the sorting bowls. And a kit that would be nice to see would be the wooden apple orchard.

  36. I like the accorn sorting set and the memory set, maybe I am in an accorn mood today. I would love to see the autum trees in the shop, so pretty I have been after my husband to make something like those for a long time, but it has not happened.

  37. What a fun day!
Your products look fantastic! I love the wool felt rainbow rolls, felt looks so appealing when it’s rolled in rainbow colours!
I would also love to see the big gnomes made into a kit or the rainbow coiled rag bowl.
    Best of luck to you!
    xoxo

PS. Will Canada be lumped in with International Shipping? Here we have 3 options – Canada(domestic), US or Overseas(international)

    1. For at least this week, we are only doing US. We are trying to figure out the best way to ship to Canada. Just curious… what do you find to be the most economical way to get things from the states?

      1. Usually my postage from the US is your US Postal system. Have had no real problems at all. Sometimes a quirk or two with duty but that’s my issue not yours. It helps if the company I’m ordering from sends as a gift not a commercial product, but it’s usually not an issue. Occasionally I have received packages from UPS – again, no problem at all. I order from Amazon regularly and it’s great. Canadians need things too. πŸ™‚
        Thanks, Janis

        1. Of course Canadians need things too, hehe πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing this info. Hopefully, we will have everything squared away in the next couple of weeks and you can shop to your heart's content πŸ™‚

  38. I would choose the soy stain–both shades although I really would have liked the wool felting kit and rovings.

I would like to see the Matroyska (SP?) doll applique turned into an embroidered pillow kit. A piece of printed muslin with the doll markings on it and a second piece for the back, and some fiberfill to stuff it with. I would also like it to have the seam line be the outline of the doll so that you can cut it and make a little pillow doll from it as opposed to having a square or round pillow shape.

  39. Good luck with your new shop! For your drawing, I’d love the wooden acorn memory game for my grandson. A kit I’d like to see is your Moon and Stars sleeping bag and gnome.

  40. I love your acorn color matching and sorting kit. I can see it heading right to our play kitchen. I think that the child’s ball would make a great pattern.

  41. ohh, i would choose the hand dyed felt squares!

forgot to mention the pattern…..i think the treasure pouch or the gnome sleeping bag would be cute kits!

  42. I love the acorn memory game. My daughter would have a blast with that. I would love to see a kit for the “big gnomes” as a kit as they are one of my favorite things in the patterns!

  43. I’ve been lurking here for ages and am so glad that the shop is finally open! The flower fairy kit is darling and the Big/little waldorf style gnomes from the pattern section would be a great addition. I would also suggest stocking some of the plain peg people in the supplies section for people who didn’t want to get a full kit (they already have left over felt) but didn’t want to get the peg people from a whole different site. Congrats again!

  44. Oh I love the felt rolls or the flower fairies. I would suggest some pattern to make your own gnome house base or stocking the peg people. I keep thinking I will get to this for my girls-they would love it.

  45. Congratulations!! I would love to see the Moon and Stars Gnomes and Sleeping Bag as a kit and the Flower Fairy and Baby Bud Kit would be fun to have! Good luck in your new endeavor!

  46. Congratulations on your new shop! So exciting!

I would love to see the gnomes and sleeping bags (especially the moon and stars ones!) turned into kits. They are adorable and it would be great to have all the supplies ready to create some.

I would love to win the SoyCraft Rainbow Paint Pack — I could make so many fun things with those vibrant, non-toxic colors!

  47. I would like the gnome bed turned into a kit….it’s just so cute!

I would like the knitting tower….have wanted one for a while now…

I’m so happy you have a shop!!! You should sell some tshirts, bags, etc. with your little gnome symbol on it…it’s too cute!!

    Wishing you all the best!!

  48. Congratulations! I’ve been eagerly awaiting your new shop and now it’s here!
The knitting tower is perfect for the “wee folk” in my life. I hope I’m the lucky winner! All of your patterns are great, but I’d love to see a kit for the Felt Baby Ball or the Knit Gnomes or the Big Gnomes. πŸ™‚

  49. congratulations on the opening of your shop! i love everything about it!
i would love to see a kit for the big gnomes. would love to make it for my little one.
if i win this give away, i would love to receive the soy paint pack. i love working with wood and i would love to try these colors, I’ve been using watercolors.
    thanks for the opportunity!!!

  50. Congratulations on your store opening! I am almost as excited as you!

Pick a kit to make? I can’t decide! Maybe an assortment of yarn to make the Christmas ornament balls.

I would love to try the soy paints – I love the bright colors!

  51. Congratulations, I love your shop, it’s wonderful!

I would love for you to include Gnome pillow dolls as a kit in the shop.

I also love Wooden Acorn Memory Game Kit, would love a chance to win it.

  52. Thanks for this giveaway.
What I would like to receive the Wooden Sorting Bowls and Acorns Kit and the pattern I would like turned into a kit is the wooden pine forest.
    Thanks

  53. Congratulations on the shop! It’s lovely! There’s so many things that I have my eye on! If I didn’t already have my own homemade wood polish, I would love to have that bundled with the soy paint and possibly the sandpaper too. I have having to drag 4 kids to the store to search for one item, lol!

  54. The new shop is great!

I would love the soy paints.

For kits, I would like to see the apple orchard or the big gnomes.

  55. I placed my order bright and early yesterday and now I can’t wait for all my things to arrive!! I’d love to see the wizards made into a kit. I love working with felt and these projects are wonderful take alongs!

  56. Congrats on your shop. I would love to win the wooden eggs and egg cups and would love to see any of the gnomes made into kits.

  57. The shop looks great!
I would like to win the flower garland.
I’d like to see the party purse turned into a kit. Congratulations again!

  58. The Wooden Sorting Bowls and Acorns Kit look perfect. My boys would love them.

I’d really like the peg gnomes featured as a kit. They are irresistible.

  59. Congratulations on the new shop!

I would love to see the felted blue bird offered as a kit. I have never felted roving before and would love to learn without the trouble of sourcing materials and instructions separately. I would love to have the beeswax finish for all of my current wood projects. Thank you for the chance!

  60. Congrats on the new shop! Love, love the colored eggs.

  61. I would love to see the “hats for sale” playset offered as a kit.
If I won I would choose the sorting acorns/bowls.
    Thanks!

  62. Congratulations! I am certain that this will be a huge success. Great items and a lovely looking shop. My favorite is the Wool Felt Rainbow Roll. . . I love working with felt!

Considering a crafty daughter I would suggest the Treasure Pouch to be sold as a kit. . . I think they would make a fantastic crafty gift.

  63. Congratulations on the first opening being a huge success! It’s wonderful to see you guys get so much support for your shop when you’ve been so terribly generous with all your patterns and craft ideas. Well done =).
I’d love (like lots of other people it seems) to see the autumn apple trees turned into a kit as I have no access to a wood saw. I hope shipping won’t be prohibitively expensive when you start doing overseas orders.
I’d love to win any of the wood finishing bits like the wax finishing or the non-toxic rainbow of paints.

  64. I just love all the patterns, tutorials, and ideas on your website. Your creativity and aesthetic are so pleasing and charming. If I were to win the giveaway, I would like to receive the spring flowers garland kit. And if you were to make a kit from any of your tutorials, I would recommend the big gnomes (include the peg people, wool felt, embroidery floss, and paper/pdf patterns). Although, any of the wood crafts (e.g., apple trees, fall trees, old world gnomes) would also make a great kit (e.g., enough wood to make 6-7 trees, small amount of stain and wood finish, sandpaper, paper/pdf pattern). Thanks for your fun website!

  65. I’d pick the Wood Finishing Kit. It would be great for finishing some of my projects I’ve been leaving off.

I think any of the wooden projects would be great to sell. I know woodworking isn’t something I have the knowledge or tools for. If I had to pick just one to start I’d go with the Wooden Apple Orchard.

  66. I love the new shop! Never would have thought about the one-day concept, but I sure hope it works for you. It’s kinda cute in a way.
I especially love the Wooden Sorting Bowls and Acorns Kit. My daughter would have lots of fun with that.
For new ideas, I would like to see they Mushroom Business Card Holder. I think the Wool Penny Coasters would make a nice kit and a nice gift for friends.

  67. Best of luck with the shop – good for you! πŸ™‚ I love the sorting acorns.

  68. Congratulations on the success of your first day! Our family really enjoys the inspiration from your blog.

Thanks for offering a giveaway too! If I won I would pick the rainbow bundle of wool felt. . . I think :} That wood polish is pretty tempting too.

The thing I would most like to see made into a kit are your wooden trees. And also the little peg people in sleeping bags. We love them all!

  69. Congratulations on the Grand Opening!
I love the Spring Flower Garland Kit and I have always loved the felt tree forest. I printed those directions but never got around to doing them. I think those should be a kit.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  70. Oh my goodness, there is so much good STUFF in the shop! We’re literally right in the middle of a big move, so now is not the time to shop, but soon! Oh soon!

With regards to the giveaway (and thank you thank you thank you!) I am so drawn to those sorting acorns and bowls! So sweet! I adore them. As for what I’d like to see made into a kit next? Either the little orchard, or either of the forests! I am a sucker for trees!! =)

  71. I’d love to see the felt-tree-forest in a bundle package. I’d love to have the fairy flower mum and bub, they can live in the forest.

I love the idea of a store. Great job.

    Pattie

  72. You did wonderful on the shop. It looks great. I ordered the matching acorns and I would love to win the egg cups. It seems like only yesterday you started doing this blog, what a great new chapter. So excited for you!

  75. I write this on behalf of Mira, our 6 year old crafter. She would love to lay her creative hands on the rainbow roll of wool felt.
A kit for the autumn wooden trees would be fantastic for dad!

  76. Congratulations on the opening of your store!

If I won, I’d go for the Flower Fairy Wand kit, because I think my 11 year old would love to make it for her only girl cousin.

And to answer your question about the kits, I’d love to see the banners made into kits, especially the fall and rainbow ones. Actually, the wooden orchard would make a great kit too, just in time for apple picking season!

  77. Congrats! The shop is wonderful My favourites are the sortin acorns. They are adorable and a great developmentally stimulating material. I’d love to make some for my therapy patient kids. They would love them!

  78. I love the flower fairies and would love to see the cat doorstop as a kit

  79. I’ve been wanting to start a gnome home, so I guess kits that would make a gnome family would be what I would most likely buy in kit form (I’m ,ore of a supply buying person). If my name got drawn I would like to win either the wool roving or the soy paints. Both products are what I’m looking at buying in the near future. Congrats on opening your store. Best wishes.

  80. oh I would love the soy paint! And to see the felt trees in a kit:) Love you stuff, very inspiring!

  81. I think that both of my kiddos would get a ton of enjoyment out of the acorn memory game. I would love to see any of your woodworking projects-especially the Christmas Corner trees and birds as a kit. My lovely husband got me a scroll saw for my birthday this year, but I am still learning and there are so many wonderful things to make. I can’t keep up. πŸ™‚
