9” x 18” piece of felt
Scrap felt for heart
Embroidery floss
15” of 3/8” grosgrain ribbon
Stuffing – Polyfil or wool
1] Make copy of pattern.
2] Cut out felt as follows:
2 – full bodies
1 – leg piece (this will be used for putting fingers into)
1 heart
3] Embroider face as follows:
Eyes – Woven Spider Wheel – 6 strands
Whiskers – Stem Stitch – 6 strands
Nose – Satin Stitch – 6 strands
Lips – Stem Stitch – 6 strands
4] Using 6 strands of floss, blanket stitch across the upper edge of the leg piece.
5] Using the pattern as a guide, attach heart to the bunny front using 3 strands of floss and a running stitch.
6] To stitch the bunny together, the 3 body pieces should be stacked in the following manner:
Bunny front with right side out
Bunny back
Bunny legs with right side out
7] Using 3 strands of floss, blanket stitch the front, back and legs together. Leave one arm open for stuffing.
8] Stuff the bunny. Lightly stuff the legs. (Note: When the bunny is done you will need to slide your fingers down the bunny’s legs and if you overstuff the legs there won’t be room for fingers!)
9] Finishing stitching the arm, filling it with stuffing as you go along.
10] Tie a bow and clip the ends on an angle. If you would like the bow to be permanent, using matching floss to tack the bow through the knot, preventing it from coming untied.
11] Slide your fingers down the bunny’s legs and take it for a walk!

I just keep being unable to open the pattern pdf file! Could you please send it to my email address: muriste@videotron.ca
thanks, Muriel
Try rebooting your system. Sometimes it just its a tad bit wonky and a reboot helps. There should be no reason why you can’t open the file unless you have some specific security settings prohibiting it. Or… try clicking directly on this link: https://weefolkart.com/wp-content/uploads/patterns/walking-bunny-fingerpuppet.pdf . If you still can’t open it, let me know and I’ll email the pdf to you.
Hi! I just finished doing the felt pizza and I love it! I am confused about something, though. When you say 6 strands, what does that mean? Does it mean six seperate pieces of the embroidery thread? Or does it mean you split the individual piece by the threads? I am trying to do the eyes with six pieces of embroidery thread and it id difficult! Help!
I mean you use all 6 strands of the embroidery floss. Do not separate the strands. But here's a little trick I found that makes it easier when you are doing the woven spider wheel. After you make the 5 spokes, use the blunt "eye" part of the needle, not the sharp point, to weave the thread in and out of the spokes. It does start getting crowded, but keep weaving until you can't see any part of the spokes. Hope that helps 🙂
Haha wooooow. My fingers are rejoicing! I wish I had thought to ask before I did 3 pieces of embroidery floss for the whole pizza! Thank you so much for your responses… I really want to be able to sew and I am trying to teach myself, starting with your patterns. I am really enjoying myself and, again, am so thankful for the information you have on this site!!!
I was looking for a little felt rabbit project to make to my nieces this Easter. This one is so easy and nice. I will definately do it. Thanks for sharing it.
