Nothing is quite so nostalgic as putting up the annual Christmas tree. Memories are shared, and we meander through the years every time we touch an ornament. I love traditions so my family was quite flummoxed when I had Tim make me a wooden tree this year. I will talk more about when we finish decorating the tree! My family, however, is taking bets as to whether or not I will still put up a traditional tree between now and Christmas. We shall see! What I plan to do is blend the old with the new. We are going through our boxes of ornaments and mixing some of our old ornaments with the new ones that I am making for this tree like the Easel Ornaments we are sharing today. The mini canvases and easels were inexpensive and they were so much fun to paint. Although I am able to set these directly on our new wooden tree, if you would like to make them for a traditional tree, simply glue the canvases to the easelsĀ and add a string for hanging. Use our designs or create your own. Although the past is important, it is always fun to incorporate something new into each holiday season!

Easel Ornaments Directions
Optional: Paint the wood on the back the canvas white.
Paint the wooden easel.
If using our template, print the template, cut out our designs, center and trace the design on the canvas. Optional: To make tracing easier, cover the designs with packing tape before you cut out them out. This makes them easier to trace around and can be used over again.
Paint your designs.
When dry, place your painting on the easels.
We have a wooden tree, and we can set these directly on our tree.
If you wish to hang these from a traditional tree, glue the canvas to the easels and add a string for hanging.
