Shamrock Applique Block

For all of our Irish friends out there and everyone else that is a "bit" Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, here is a Shamrock Applique Block. Just for fun I turned my applique block into a little flag of Ireland! Of course the shamrock can be appliqued to just about any thing! As usual, the shamrock was designed to fit on a 6" x 6" block, but can be enlarged or reduced to meet your needs. Think how cute this would be reduced to brooch size, stuffed a bit, and worn this St. Patrick’s Day. Or enlarge the pattern, make it out of parachute material for an outdoor banner. The pattern for the Shamrock Applique Block can be found HERE or with our FREE Appliques. Enjoy!

  1. I’m not Irish but I married a man that is Irish through and through. His “clan” still uses the family Aran sweater pattern that all the women on his side of the family can knit with their eyes closed. Once I get a little more confident at knitting I’ll be learning. This has got to be one of the loveliest shamrocks I’ve ever seen. I love the hearts that are in the centers. I know I want to use it on something, but not sure what. Maybe something to surprise my hubby. Anyone have any brainy ideas?

  2. I agree. This shamrock is adorable.

  3. Yay! This shamrock is just the thing to adorn a blank t-shirt that I bought for my wee bonnie lass. Thanks for sharing!
