While drinking my cup of tea this morning, I was thinking about the grandbabies need for bigger pockets on nature walks. I decided to throw together something they could use for collecting treasures. I wanted to make it small enough to be uncumbersome, and unlike a backpack, something they could get to easily. I made up a simple pattern and in a couple of hours came up with this finished product! I made it out of felt and a batik print. I braided the strap out of 12 strands of wool yarn. It measures 7 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches, just the perfect size! Big enough to tuck away finds, but not too big to become heavy. Now I need a trip to the fabric store to get more batik fabric to make 2 more. I will include the pattern and tutorial soon!
