Fabric Christmas Cards

Fabric Christmas Cards

I’ve been working on my Christmas cards this past week. I still have a handful to make but these are fun and easy and I’m hoping to be done this evening. These are the cards we will be giving to our friends and teachers. For this project I converted my mother’s Christmas tree applique block into a fabric print that I ordered from Spoonflower. I plan to make some gift bags with the fabric as well. I sized the tree to fit perfectly on a quarter sheet of paper… but you can use any fun holiday fabric for this project. Check out the directions here or in our Free Patterns section.

  1. I love “Hey, I can do that” crafts! I only have a handful of cards to send out, think I’ll give this a go. Thanks!

  2. That is a cute card, but I am lazy and using store bought ones.
I would like to do my own designs next year and have them printed up, will see.
I reduced the fireflies to fit on my piece and now I have to figure out a good grasshopper to put on the stem.

    1. If I have a chance over the next couple of days I’ll try to design a grasshopper. I know I won’t get a chance to make one, but at least there would be a pdf you could play with. A post-it just went on my computer screen! If I can’t get to it in the next couple of days, I won’t get to it until next week, which probably won’t be any help to you, sooo… I will try 🙂

  3. oh my gosh! I used to have a whole sack of adorable Christmas fabric. I had already cut it into squares and everything. my plan was to make little quilted ornaments out of it, but unfortunately I never finished them all (and doubt I ever will, now…I got bored with that project). I wonder where all that fabric is now. If I can did it out of it’s hiding place, I could totally recycle it into this!!

thanks so much for the idea!

  4. I love how you took what is typically a paper craft and made it your own! (I’m mostly a cardmaker, so I envy you fabric-savvy ladies.)

  5. Wow! What a great idea! The material is so pretty on the red card stock too. 🙂
