Here is the first coloring page based on our December Applique Blocks. It is our Gingerbread Stocking. Not only is it a fun coloring page for even your youngest artists, I’m thinking it could even be enlarge to twice its size and be used as wonderful Christmas throw pillow. Our appliques are always just a starting point!

What is an applique block?
When I first started sharing appliques on Wee Folk Art, I wanted to make them uniform, so I sized them to fit on a 6″ x 6″ block. There are a few “landscape” blocks that work best in a block form, but most of the appliques are simply that… appliques. They can be used where ever you would use any applique. They can also be enlarged or reduced to meet your needs. I do know many people that have added an extra half inch around all the blocks, and have sewn the blocks together to make quilts. Other people have enlarged the blocks to make pillow tops. Basically, though, “applique block” is simply I term I use myself and denotes size more than anything else 🙂 ~Kimara~
Thanks Kimara.
