Ok, this was actually pretty easy after I finally sat down and just did it. Print out the puppet body pattern. Cut out two matching pieces of fabric on a fold.
Place the body pieces right sides together using a 1/4" seam allowance. Sew up the sides leaving the last 1/2" before the neck opening un-sewn. Hem up the bottom edge of the body. Turn the body right side out. Now would be a good time to add any details you might want. Get creative… add buttons, lace… maybe an apron.
Once your body is done, use tacky, craft glue on the on the top 1/2" of the neck.
Put the neck up into the hole in the bottom of the head. Be sure it is lined up nicely then, using your finger, push the edges of the neck down inside the head so that the neck is glued to the inside of the head in both the front and back.
When it dries you are ready to add hair.
