Although most of the country seems to be cloudy and moist right now, there is a chance that we will be experiencing sunny days soon. I thought we could all use a little sunshine about now, so here is our latest applique block. As always, it was designed to fit on a 6″ x 6″ block, but it can be enlarged or reduced to meet your needs.
I must admit I had ulterior motives for designing this block. We will be using it as the icon for our In the Good Old Summertime series we will be starting next week. Watch for more on the topic. In the meantime, if you have something that is screaming for a Sunburst Applique Block, the pattern can be found HERE.
I provide daycare for several children on our lane. I wanted to make some summer shirts so they would stand out in a crowd so to speak when we are out for the day. This sunburwt will be perfect. I’M going to turn it insto a stencil. Thanks for all your lovely ideas.
Just made a terry cloth swim robe for my 4 year old son. I’m going to blow this up and zigzag stitch it to the back of the rope using fleece. I’ll send a photo when I’m done. Totally psyched!
The things you create with felt and thread never ceases to amaze me! I’ve been having a great time creating from your patterns. Thank you again for sharing this 🙂
That is a fun block and would be great in a smaller size for postcards.
I still need to finish my dog quilt with the bees and grass hopper. The main work is done, just need to do the finishing touches and embellishing.

Hello. I just discovered your website and am so far smitten with your work. Thank you for sharing it.
Would this be a good project for a beginner (like me)?
