Postcards from Vermont 2011

My mom shared some pictures of her latest trip to visit the Little Lady so I needed to share some of ours. We went in the other direction. We just got back from our annual trip to Vermont (here are last year’s pics). This is something we’ve been doing since I was 11 years old and it is so wonderful to share this experience with my children now. We have been going to the same place for so long, when we get there it feels like we’ve come home to this magical place where time seems to stand still. We love the boundless outdoor activities and are always on the go from dawn to dusk. We come back feeling both refreshed and exhausted. LOL.

  1. Wonderful photos of your trip. We usually took our kids to NH or Maine, but love going north in the summer. Too hot in RI these days;)

    1. We started taking the kids to the resort in Vermont when my youngest was 4. It is so nice to see them continuing the tradition with their children. I know that some of their fondest memories are of summers in Vermont. As far as hot… yikes! I think there are probably 2 states in the country that aren't sweltering!

  2. Beautiful pictures! I am blessed to live in northwestern Vermont, right along Lake Champlain. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. What part of Vermont did you come to?

    1. We obviously spend some time around Lake Champlain. Beautiful – lucky you! We cross over into Vermont from Port Kent by taking the ferry across to Burlington. Such a cool town. We stay near Stowe… where we hike, bike, golf and eat a year's worth of Ben and Jerry's in a week. 😉
