The Feuer, Wasser, Sturm, Blitz, (Fire, Water, Storm, Lightning Game) is a German party game. Although as few as 3 people can play, it is more fun when played with a group, young and old alike. It is easy to learn and requires no special equipment.
Fire, Water, Storm, Lightning Game Rules
One person is the caller. Depending on the word they call out, players must perform the action:
Fire (feuer): Players “Stop, Drop, and Roll” on the ground, putting out the fire.
Water (wasser): Players must head to high ground and climb up on an object to escape the rushing water.
Storm (sturm): Players must hold on tight to something to avoid being swept away by strong winds.
Lightning (blitz): Players curl up into a small ball on the floor to avoid a lightning strike.
If you are playing the game to determine a winner, the last person to enact the command is out of the game. The game continues until one person is left and they are deemed the winner. If you are playing a noncompetitive, the last person becomes the new caller, thus the caller changes every time.
You can add variations to the game by coming up with other weather conditions, like snow, ice, rain, etc. then creating appropriate actions.
