Hit the Pot Game, called Topfschlagen in Germany, is a fun game to play indoors on a rainy day and a perfect party game. Germany is known for its delicious chocolates, and the prize at the end of this game is a pot full of chocolates!
Hit the Pot Game Equipment
- 2 or more children (or adults)
- a metal pot
- a wooden spoon or small stick
- a blindfold or scarf
Hit the Pot Rules
One player is blindfolded.
A pot is hidden somewhere on the floor in the play area. A handful of small chocolates is placed in or under the pot. Note: players will be crawling. Make sure the area is safe and any potential hazards are removed. Also, make sure you are not playing by an open staircase!
The blindfolded person must now crawl around the floor, tapping with their stick, until they find the pot. If younger children are having trouble locating the pot, hints may be given to help them along.
When the pot is found, the blindfold is removed, and the candy is collected. It is now the next person’s turn.
