Lompat Getah Equipment Needed
- rubber band rope (about 8 feet long)
- 3 or more players
How to Play Lompat Getah
Two players hold an end of the elastic band rope. Players stand 6 to 8 feet apart on level ground. When holding the rubber band rope, it should be held parallel to the ground and steady.
Players line up and try to jump over the rope one at a time. If a player is unsuccessful, they must now take over the job of holding one of the ends and that end holder now joins the game.
With each round of play, the height of the rope increases as follows
- on the ground
- ankle level
- knee level
- thigh level
- hip level
- waist level
- chest level
- shoulder level
- nose level
- top of head level
Players must not touch the rubber band rope at ground, ankle, or knee level. If they do, the become an end holder.
After the first three levels, players can touch the rope with their bodies as they cross over. If they cannot jump over the rope or if they get tangled in the rope, they become an end holder.
The only real to jumping over the rope is you cannot use your hands or arms to pull the rope down so you can cross, but other body parts can be used. A player may jump, somersault or even cartwheel over the rope.
Play continues until no one can jump over the rope.
Creative jumping!!!
