Earthworms

My dad says that the earthworms,
Are worth their weight in gold,
When they’re in your garden,
Their value is tenfold.

Earthworms like to tunnel,
Which mixes up the soil,
It aerates the hard ground,
And saves us lots of toil.

They like to munch the dirt,
With its rotting leaves and roots,
Then leave behind their droppings,
Which nourishes new shoots.

I never knew that earthworms,
Were important in the garden,
And since earthworms are free,
I’d say they’re quite the bargain!
