Of your travels near and far,
Of babbling brooks and mossy nooks,
And numbering the stars.

Play for me, dear Katydid,
Let your music soar,
And tell your tales of hawks and snails,
And meadows you explore.

Croon for me, dear Katydid,
So everyone can hear,
Though some may say, please go away,
I love it when you’re near.

Hum for me, dear Katydid,
Your song will never fade,
And have no fear, for come next year,
Your babes will serenade!
