I heard a splash,
And turned my head,
And guess what I could see?

A little turtle
Brown and green,
Climbed on a fallen tree.

The trunk was lying,
On its side,
Where in the pond it fell.

A perfect spot,
For a turtle’s rest,
And to dry out his wet shell!
