I do so love the shrewd raccoon,
And his teeny, tiny hands,
His silky coat and bushy tail,
With its gray and charcoal bands.

He seems at home in wood and town,
As he takes his nightly stroll,
His eyes are quick to spot a treat,
Like a sentry on patrol.

His mask does make him look a thief,
But for that he can’t be blamed,
Instead his wit and nimbleness,
Deserve to be acclaimed!

So give three cheers for the wise raccoon,
Who’s often thought a scamp,
For his cunning and resourcefulness,
Make him a forest champ!
