Fox Tails

Though foxes are quite wily,
And as hunters they prevail,
I can’t help feeling most impressed,
By their bushy, bushy, tails.

They drag along behind them,
Like a regal king’s fine cloak,
I wish I could get close enough,
To give one a quick stroke!

Their tails are not just handsome,
But assist in many ways,
To help them keep their balance,
And stay warm on cold, cold days.

They also use their bushy tails,
To signal when there’s danger,
This lets the other foxes know,
When there’s a threatening stranger.

Oh, how I love the sly, red fox,
Of them I must regale,
For all their many talents,
But especially their tails!
