Cultural Connections is a series of 12 week long, literature based, hands-on curriculum guides that have been designed to be used with 6-8 year old children. These guides have been created to help introduce young students to the cultures and people from around the world. We will focus on the elements of life that we all have in common such as family, food, festivals, crafts, music, and games.
Unit One will include activities for France, Kenya, Tanzania, and Japan. Make a stained glass window, roll your own sushi, and learn to play Mancala.
Please note: You will need a copy of the Teacher’s Guide to use this unit.

I am incredibly thankful for all the homeschool companions you have put together. SimpleSeasons saved my first year of homeschooling and brought life & joy into my Kindergartener’s first year. I was first drawn to WeeFolk Art as I was seeking meaningful crafts that my Kindergartener could complete. Arts and crafts do not come naturally to me. Each craft here is lovely to look at and/or has a sense of purpose. The study of cultures and countries around us is SO needed, and I am grateful this companion guide can lead me to teach a love of learning about our world and neighbors – however different and similar we may be.
This actually all started because Michelle wasn’t finding a meaningful and gentle way to start her children’s education. It rather evolve. We are so thrilled to be able to share it with others. And, I couldn’t agree with you more about the importance of learning about other cultures. In the end our similarities are much greater than our differences. When you realized that, acceptance of differences seems natural! ~Kimara~
